In Malaysia, halal certification means Halal Verification Certificate (SPH) issued by authoritative bodies such as Jakim and JAIN which is the only recognized Malaysian halal certification body 2324 by the government.

Having Jakim’s halal certificate is the same as approval of good management standards such as ISO.

Having halal certification means the food sold is of good quality. Because of that, having a halal certificate is a must in the food business.

Apart from that, the main purpose of halal certification is to protect the religion which often causes confusion and brings bad perception to those who follow Islam.

Not all food that does not have a halal certificate is haram. Foods that contain pork fat even in small quantities will remain haram food.
